Who is Dr steven Greer?

Steven Macon Greer (June 28, 1955) is an American physician, UFO enthusiast, and conspiracy theorist. Greer is the founder of the Disclosure Project the Advanced Energy Research Organization (AERO). The later aims to reproduce claimed free energy devices Greer says were produced in secret government projects.

Greer is also a claimed contactee, and coined the term "close encounter of the fifth kind" to describe ongoing contact with extraterrestrials,

A skeptical profile of Greer and his work appeared in Alex Heard's 1999 book Apocalypse Pretty Soon. James Randi has also debunked Greer's claims, noting that Greer uses the credentials of claimed contactees as the basis of his arguments, rather than providing actual evidence. This is the ad hominem logical fallacy.

Greer is a former chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, North Carolina, and a lifetime member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He and his wife Emily have four daughters and reside in the Charlottesville, Virginia area.
